Ganesha the Remover of Obstacles

Writer: Syren FrancoSyren Franco

One of the most recognized Hindu deities is Ganesha with an elephant head and a human body. He is believed to be powerful enough to remove obstacles and ensure success. However, he is also believed to create obstructions for those whose ambition has become destructive.

The thing I find fascinating about this deity is how we have the image of Ganesha in our own brains.

There are powerful moving meditation techniques dedicated to Ganesha that scientifically show they stimulate your brain in the specific areas that Ganesha represents and as a result can improve focus and function of your mental faculties.

If you are seeking help and guidance from Ganesha you can call upon him for help with any endeavor in which you want to succeed no matter the magnitude of it. Artists and creatives can benefit from accessing this help as well. Before making a big decision, a good guide to call upon is Ganesha. If you perceive obstacles you can meditate on Ganesha. Ganesha will also help in bringing peace and joy to your home.

I want to share with you a simple mantra to Ganesha which you can repeat with your 108 Mala Beads in meditation.

Ganesha Mantra

"Om Shri Ganeshaya Namaha"

translates to ‘Lord Ganesha, I offer prayers to you’.

This one-line prayer carries profound meaning to it:

  • ‘Om’ denotes the ultimate, cosmic energy that remains as the underlying substance of all the living beings and the non-living things, ever created in the universe. When ‘Om’ is chanted, it is believed to have immense potency and miraculous powers.

  • The next word ‘Shri’ actually denotes ‘Shrim’, which is the beej mantra, the fundamental invocation.

  • The term ‘Ganeshaya’, apart from taking the name of the Lord, also highlights the notion of ‘beej’.

  • The final word ‘Namah’ is the respectful salutation, meaning ‘I bow to you’.

Chanting this mantra with faith can get for the devotees the immense blessings of the benevolent Lord. This can result in benefits that are manifold. It can remove impediments and delays, make actions fruitful, take all beginnings to their logical end and provide success in all endeavors. Its regular chanting can also discipline the mind, improve its concentration and ability, provide good clarity of thought and bestow the capacity to convert focused thinking into fruitful action. Perhaps we can host a live Ganesh meditation. Would you like to join us in this?
